Nottinghamshire Education Business Alliance hold the STEMPOINT and SEAs contracts for Nottinghamshire. Both these contracts are awarded by STEMNET. Click here to visit the STEMNET website.

Through the STEMPOINT contract NEBA have a responsibility to provide all schools and colleges in Nottinghamshire with impartial advice and guidance on a wide range of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) enhancement and enrichment activities. This includes helping them to identify which opportunities can best inspire young people in STEM subjects, providing advice on activities listed in the Shape the Future directories, as well as other regional and local provision. The Science & Engineering Ambassadors (SEAs) contract ensures that all Nottinghamshire schools and colleges have access to a range of exciting and dynamic role models in STEM subject areas.

SEAs are volunteers with an interest in science, technology, engineering or mathematics who are willing to work with schools, teachers and learners to stimulate and inspire interest in these subjects. The types of activity they can be involved with include:-


> Helping with classroom projects on specific areas of expertise
> Attending careers event and giving talks on particular subject areas
> Facilitating and mentoring groups through projects
> Bringing an industrial perspective to STEM subjects and projects
> Supporting out of school clubs, challenges and competitions

The East Midlands STEM Partnership is sourcing budding journalists to report on STEM activities within the region. This is a great opportunity for students interests in journalism, media, science, technology, engineering or maths subjects. Students will need to attend a briefing session on 8th October at BioCity, Nottingham and the project will run until November. For more information please visit the website.
