Types of Work Placement

Types of placement include:

• Block Placement – learners attend a work placement with an employer, typically for a period of 5-10 days.
• Extended Placement – learners attend a placement with an employer over an extended period of time, usually more than 15 days in one or more term.
• Targeted Placement – learners attend a placement in a business sector relevant to the vocational subjects they are studying

Systems are in place to ensure that both the employer and the learner benefit from any work placement. EBF can support employers during all stages of the process and encourages the use of its online database which holds details of over 11,000 work placements available to young people across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.
