Young Apprenticeships

A Young Apprenticeship is an exciting programme that offers learners the opportunity to combine industry specific work and school work – it gives:

  • Practical Work Experience within an area of work that is of interest
  • A level 2 vocational qualification (equivalent of 4 - 5 GCSE’s)
  • The opportunity to learn more about  a specific sector and the various fields of work within that sector
  • Information, Advice and Guidance of careers, jobs and training within a learners chosen sector

Young Apprenticeships (YAs) give motivated 14-16 year olds the opportunity to pursue industry specific applied learning programmes alongside the National Curriculum.  Learners attend courses for 2 days a week (or equivalent) over two years of the programme which includes undertaking 50 days work experience.
