Learners inspired by Boots

100 students from across the East Midlands spent a week at the Boots support office in Nottingham getting inspired about work. 50 were from schools, colleges and universities here in Nottinghamshire.
Boots, the Nottingham-based health and beauty retailer put the students through their paces in an effort to bridge the gap between young people's expectations of work and what business expects from them.

Training for Physics Teachers

The Institute of Physics (IOP) is hosting a three-day inspirational residential course for physics teachers based at the University of Sheffield's Physics & Astronomy department.
 
The course which runs from 9th - 11th July will feature: various talks on topics such as the LHC, neutrinos, black holes and nanotechnology; a visit to Kelham Island Museum; and, hands-on workshops on Physics & Toys, IOP's Ashfield Music Festival activity and seismology-based practicals.

Unique Work Experience at Boots

EBF is delighted to be supporting Boots UK who are offering 100 learners the chance to gain some work experience in their Support Office (Headquarters) based in Beeston. Between Monday, 5th July - Friday, 9th July, Boots UK will deliver a structured programme, comprising general work experience, group development sessions and presentations by business leaders, to encourage students to build their awareness of career routes as they start to think about the world of work.
