Mansfield learners took the chance to find out more about the 14-19 Diplomas by visiting the Diploma Roadshow held at the Civic Centre recently. Year 9 learners from Brunts School, Garibaldi School, Manor School, Meden School and Queen Elizabeth's School were able to use touch screen kiosks to view online information and take part in discussions in innovative inflatable 'pods' about the Diplomas which will be on offer to them.

A Business and Enterprise Day, organised by NEBA is being held at Becket School in West Bridgford on Thursday 28 January for learners in Year 11. The day aims to boost employability skills of students and gives learners an opportunity to work with people from a variety of business and industry sectors. Representatives from various organisations who will be attending on the day include Boots Brands team, Coca Cola, RAF, Focus Zenith Marketing, Atos Origin, Move & Save estate agents, Technology Consultancy, Rushcliffe Rotary, TTS and EAM Building Group.

The Retail Awareness Workshop session, which had to be cancelled due to bad weather conditions, has been re-scheduled for Wednesday, 24th February at Goosedale Conference Centre, Papplewick. This event, aimed at teachers and careers advisors will showcase the new Retail Business DVD resource, designed for use in the classroom, to inspire young people to think about careers in retail.
