Unique Work Experience at Boots

24/05/2010

EBF is delighted to be supporting Boots UK who are offering 100 learners the chance to gain some work experience in their Support Office (Headquarters) based in Beeston. Between Monday, 5th July - Friday, 9th July, Boots UK will deliver a structured programme, comprising general work experience, group development sessions and presentations by business leaders, to encourage students to build their awareness of career routes as they start to think about the world of work.

The experience aims to support students; encouraging them to articulate their talents and interests; to discover the breadth of job roles within a large organisation and to be inspired by the career stories of employees.

Students will be based in one of the Support Office departments:- IT, Brands, Trading, Projects, Stores Service Centre, Supply Chain, Marketing, Operations & Risk and Planning, Finance and Business Processes. They will each complete a short project and be involved in corporate fundraising activities taking place throughout the week.

The team at Education Business Futures is working with Boots UK staff, schools and colleges and the young people involved in what will be a unique opportunity.   Teachers and learners can find out more infomation about the placements and the application process by accessing the EBF work experience database or by contacting Brian Webb, Work Placement Manager on 01623 404345.
