Colonel Frank Seely School, Calverton recently hosted a STEM activity day for Year 9 students and pupils from its feeder schools. NEBA Stempoint and STEM Ambassadors supported the day by delivering exciting workshops including:-
- Constructing and launching a rocket
- Building your own Eden
- Designing computer controlled buggies
- Microbiology
- Science in Food
Paul Lakritz, head of technology at the school said: "The linking of education and industry proved to be a highly engaging experience for students and staff. Giving students the opportunity to work with STEM specialists has opened their minds to the relationship between the GCSE subjects they are considering and the careers they wish to pursue. A great day that was enjoyed by all involved."
